For individuals, Teams and organisations

Why - Our purpose

We want to promote and apply Clean Language and Systemic Modeling to create the conditions for citizens, teams and communities to be at their best. We want to continue to develop the application of these powerful tools and techniques and have them used in the world to create a higher level of collaboration and understanding.

We find out what is working well, not so well and what could be different or better. We develop understanding with our clients using open and content-free questions and client always know more as a result of this. We find out what it is like currently and what you would like to have happen. We create the opportunities to be curious, ask questions of each other, find out about differences and what could happen, rather than being stuck and settle into the same old patterns.

This all provides the opportunity to be creative and collaborative, either individually or as a team. There are many tools and techniques that make this possible within our facilitation and trainings, and learning these are all part of the process to enable the person, team or organisation to move forward, with greater understanding, insight and clarity, so they/it can be at it’s best.

We support and encourage teams and individuals to learn to become curious, to listen, ask Clean Questions, to respect difference and know more about patterns and assumptions - their own or others. We encourage the system; individual, team, group or organisation to know more and model itself so it can change and be different.

We are: Rachel Gilmore & Neil Pavey

We are two passionate and creative facilitators.

Rachel has worked, back in the day, as a restaurant manager, in retail and, more recently, media. She has lots of experience working across the creative and tech industries. She has been practicing as a coach for over 12 years and ‘clocked up’ well over 1500 hours of coaching. She’s at her best when she is wild swimming and facilitating groups with a willingness to change, who take responsibility, collaborate and want to be creatively different.

Neil has worked in education as a teacher, manager and leader, specialising in creative subjects and thinking. Having discovered and trained in NLP and Clean he has been coaching and facilitating for over 6 years, working with a wide range of clients: Doctors, Sales teams, Architects, Artists, Financial Directors, Education... the diversity is what makes it inspiring. He's at his best when in mountains and on rivers and when he uses materials and questions to get a group drawing and thinking to gain extraordinary insights and collaborating over coloured pens, big bits of paper and post-its!

We work with:

We believe that Clean tools and techniques work brilliantly in all kinds of contexts and deliver inspiring results. We have a wealth of experience in coaching people and facilitating teams in all kinds of contexts and environments from education to architecture to healthcare to tech and museums.

What is Clean Language and Systemic Modelling

Clean Language is a simple set of powerful questions developed by counselling psychologist David Grove. The questions are used with a person's own words to direct their attention to some aspect of their own experience, they are content and assumption free and so, allow a person’s words to be honoured and developed.

Clean Language focusses attention on the metaphors people use naturally to describe their experience. Metaphors help us to gain access to a deeper and embodied level of experience and also to discover more about people’s experience at an abstract and then practical level.

Systemic Modelling is a series of tools and techniques developed by Caitlin Walker and others using Clean questions and metaphor to enable better understanding and build sustainable and meaningful collaboration.
